- 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry. Keep the pastry chilled until shaping.
- 2 to 3 tablespoons tomato purée or pizza sauce. Use only enough sauce to cover the center.
- 50 grams grated mozzarella. Mozzarella creates a gooey filling.
- 1 egg beaten. Beaten egg gives the pastry a golden finish.
- A little water. Water helps the pastry edges stick together.
- Dried oregano Parmesan, pepperoni, or cheddar. Optional additions add more pizza flavor.

Prep the Oven and TrayPreheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside. Keep the tray ready before cutting the pastry, as cold puff pastry is easier to handle. Cut the Pumpkin ShapesUnroll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut out pairs of pumpkin shapes. Keep one piece whole for each base, then cut small eyes, a nose, and a mouth into the matching pieces. Cut the faces before adding the filling for easier handling. Add the Pizza FillingPlace the whole pumpkin shapes on the prepared tray. Spoon a small amount of pizza sauce into the center of each piece, leaving a clear border around the edges. Sprinkle mozzarella over the sauce without creating a tall mound. Seal the PuffsLightly brush water around the pastry borders. Place the face-cut pastry over each filled base and press the edges firmly to seal. Crimp the edges with a fork if desired, and check for any gaps where the melted cheese could escape. Brush and BakeBrush the tops with beaten egg. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed, golden, and fully cooked. Cool and ServeLet the pumpkin pizza puffs cool for a few minutes before serving. The sauce and melted mozzarella will be very hot straight from the oven.
