Method
- Choose Your BaseGrab the largest cutting board you own. Use a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper if you do not have a large board. Choose a flat surface that holds plenty of treats.
- Place the AnchorsPut the largest items down first. Use a wheel of brie, a bowl of dip, or a stack of large cookies as landmarks. Fill everything else in around them.
- Add Medium ItemsArrange cookies, candy canes, and chocolate chunks in clusters. Use groups of three or five so the board looks intentional. A few overlapping items remain fine.
- Fill the GapsUse small items such as nuts, pomegranate seeds, and marshmallows to fill empty spaces. Place a small bowl of sauce in a gap that refuses to fill.
- Add HeightStack a few cookies or place a small bowl on top of a larger item. Height makes the board look polished. Avoid building a Jenga tower.
- Garnish and FinishTuck in fresh rosemary sprigs or a few extra candy canes for a festive touch. Drizzle caramel or chocolate sauce over the top if desired. Step back and admire the board.
