Equipment

  • Extra-large wooden cutting board
  • Small glass bowls
  • Cheese knives
  • Small serving spoons

Method

  1. Anchor the Board
You place the glass bowls on the board first. The bowls establish the layout and prevent wet ingredients from spreading.
  2. Place the Cheese
You position the Brie and cheddar around the bowls. You can cut the cheddar into cubes and leave the Brie in a wedge.
Rustic cheese pieces look better than perfectly identical cubes.
  3. Add the Meat
You fold the prosciutto and salami into loose ribbons. You tuck the ribbons next to the cheese to create height.
Flat deli slices look sad, so give them some shape.
  4. Fill the Bowls
You spoon the cranberry sauce and fig jam into the glass bowls. You should keep wet ingredients contained.
  5. Fill the Gaps
You scatter the crackers, grapes, and pecans into the empty spaces. A full board looks abundant, so you should arrange the ingredients close together.
  6. Garnish
You tuck rosemary sprigs around the edges. You can add extra grapes or nuts when the board still looks sparse.
